Carmen obtained a bachelor’s degree with a postgraduate diploma in Health and Social Psychology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain) and she holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the Université d’Angers (France). She is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS) and accredited by the Dutch Institute of Psychologists (NIP) as a registered psychologist in The Netherlands.
At Mindful Psychology Amsterdam, Carmen practices with a range of evidence based approaches such a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Most importantly, her therapy style involves a light hearted approach with a sense of openness, connection, caring, patience and respect.
She has extensive experience in providing psychology and counseling services for adults, teenagers and children from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Carmen’s expertise has been gained through many years of working with non-profit organisations, national associations, municipality and private practice.
Currently she is pursuing opportunities to develop professionally by undertaking university postgraduate studies and attending relevant courses, workshops and conferences both locally in Holland and internationally. Through the knowledge that she has obtained, she is able to ensure that the therapy and coaching provided is innovative and delivered to the highest possible professional standards. She also consults regularly with other health professionals and organizations regarding best practices and the sharing of relevant knowledge.
